The One of this Past Week...
Phew, I made it through the first week of school guys. I was really excited about going back to Cola, as y'all may have read, but that was mostly because I wanted to be back with friends and what not. I really wasn't quite ready for classes to begin, but hey! I made it through all the intros and syllabis and such with several stories to tell...
Monday: I went to the Red Cross MLK Day Service at the Ronald McDonald House about 5 minutes from campus. I got to meet some new people and got to help out. We mostly just cleaned out and straightened out the house, but it was still quite a neat experience. Definitely looking forward to more opportunities for service especially with Red Cross!
Tuesday: It was the first day of classes, and boy was it hard to get up that early in the morning. At 7:30 AM, I was up for my 8 o'clock class. Luckily, en route to Gambrell for the Science & Spirit class, the Colloquium was on the way. There's nothing better than a hot Caramel Macchiatto from Starbucks to start off the day!
Wednesday: First meetings with my MWF professors except for my Chem prof who is the same as last semester's. I was pretty satisfied with everything especially since I was with several familiar faces in each of the three classes I had that day. I think that it's pretty cool having some of the same classmates--made possible mostly due to the fact that the classes are from the Honors College. If I were in those 300-student Chemistry classes, I'm sure I probably would not even recognize 1/4 of the students in it.
Thursday: TWO-HOUR DELAY! Considering my only two classes of the day were in the morning, I only had to go to one...Logic! Half the class didn't show up, however, so Dr. J decided to give us, who did show up, a break. It was a pretty cold and gloomy day, and before I knew it, I was back in my jammies at Maxcy...hehe!
Friday: Once again, only two classes. Definitely, two thumbs up! With nothing much to really do, my friends and I just really chilled (not that we didn't the past other days.) I did decide to hit up Strom around 5 with my best friend. She went off to the climbing wall, while I spent some good amount of time on the treadmill and lifting weights...YES...LIFTING WEIGHTS! I saw one of my friends in the gym, and he became my personal trainer guiding me through the different machines and such. Lord knows I look dumb trying to look at the diagrams and reading the instructions on how to use each machine! Afterwards...we hit up Russell House for dinner...showered of course because I stunk...and went back to RH to catch the 9 o'clock movie. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen the movie yet...but most definitely I recommend that y'all go out and rent PRESTIGE when it comes out on DVD. That was one great movie!
And that was the past week, but now here I am back at home again, guys. Tomorrow is another big game for the Colts (my sister and her husband are huge fans!) so me and Shawn came home for the weekend to watch the game with the family. I've been doing so great in eating healthier and smaller portions back in Cola, but in the short 12 hours that I've been home, I think I've eaten more here than I did the entire past week! My mother is the best cook in the world, and ahhhh! I just can't stop eating!
Anyways...I hope everyone had a great week with school and everything. Half the weekend is over...so let's all enjoy tomorrow! Hopefully tomorrow night will be a great night (cross y'alls fingers for a Colts' victory!!!!)
Catch y'all on the flipside, future Gamecocks!
