The One With the Potty Mouth!
See, there are lots of things to do around here in Columbia on a Saturday night. There's the Vista if you'd like to go out for a fancy night out to dinner and such. There's Five Points if you'd like to party and dance the night away (or drink if you're of age, of course). There's the Greek Village, where there's bound to be some party or another. But what better way to spend your Saturday night but to take a long nap in some purple leopard pajamas only to wake up to friends screaming and hollering as each of their five lives go down in flames.
Yes, take three controllers, three players, an innocent bystander, and SuperSmash Brothers on GameCube, and y'all are sure to have the night of your life. Let me tell y'all...What started out so innocently at 10:30 in the evening and has lasted until now has turned our dear MaxcyPad inside out as at 1:25 in the morning, in this new Sunday of the week, (yes, the Sabbath) one of the gang has officially done the unthinkable and said their FIRST curse word!
It's been an interesting night...You'd think these muggs would have outgrown SuperSmash by now, but this room is hopping with some funny outbursts you'd think some inappropriate things were going on in the room...but rest assured...it's just SuperSmash Brothers. Oh, videogames!!!
You know, nothing beats a night just hanging out with friends. Everyone says when you go to college that you should go out and meet lots of new people and make new friends. They say that in college is where most people make those friendships that really last until the hair turns gray. I think I've done a pretty good job in making such friendships. The gang's not necessarily made of "new people." Actually, we're all from the same high school (except one who's my best friend from middle school!!!). But see, we never really hung out all together back then either. It was just by default that when we got here, we all just gravitated to each other. But man have we realized how much we're all so different and yet we make such the "dynamically awesome" group. Sometimes we butt-heads, but what groups don't? For the most part, we just love to hang out here at MaxcyPad. Whenever the guys have time to kill in between classes, it's pretty much Maxcy time for them. It's usually nice having the company over...it makes this dingy-lil room that we got even homier with them around.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's important to go meet new people, and I have. My neighbors here at Maxcy are really nice. I usually talk to the girls across the hall and the guys down the hall. I know most of the people in most of my classes, and I'm Facebook friends with most of them. I've joined a couple of clubs/groups on campus, and that has also helped in introducing me to new people. BUT don't forget to still talk to your old high school buds. Don't turn your back on them just because y'all are in college. I remember in the beginning of the year that some of the guys on my hall were asking me if I wasn't tired yet of hanging with the same bunch for the past four years...but see, it's just different now in college. We're not exactly all the same people we were back then. And I really love every single one of them and wouldn't trade anyone...well maybe when their having a bad day or something I would...hehehe!
Well, anyways...just thought I'd share that lil tidbit with y'all! For you seniors, keep enjoying these last few months with your buds. Trust me, the time will start going pretty fast, pretty soon. Those Laguna-Beach-esque moments will hit you so fast you won't even know it.
Here's to the rest of this weekend that has just gone by so fast...Catch y'all later on the flipside, future Gamecocks!
